bodoglife.com to Donate Funds From Blackjack Games to Aid Hurricane Victims

September 13, 2005 – Today, bodoglife.com announced it will be donating money collected from its Blackjack game in the Bodog Casino to help victims recovering from the disastrous effects of Hurricane Katrina.

For each Player Blackjack hit in the Bodog Casino on Friday, September 16, Bodog will give $1 to the Hurricane Katrina Red Cross relief fund, up to a maximum of $10,000. Those interested in participating can play Instant Play Blackjack at the Bodog Casino or download the Bodog Casino from the same page.

It is the second time the online entertainment giant has announced a charitable endeavor to aid hurricane relief efforts. Last week, the Bodog Poker Room held five charity poker tournaments and gave all proceeds collected to the Red Cross relief fund.

“We are committed to these events because they offer our players the rarest of chances: a guaranteed reward. Just by playing blackjack on Friday you will be helping the many Americans struggling to get through this disaster,” says Calvin Ayre, Founder and CEO of bodoglife.com.

The Hurricane Katrina relief efforts are just the latest charity efforts made by Bodog.

In July, Bodog teamed with the Fisher House foundation to host “Bodog Salutes the Troops: A Tribute to American Heroes”, a two-day charity concert and poker tournament that benefited the men and women of the U.S. military. Earlier in the year, Bodog was the major sponsor of the LA Lakers Youth Foundation’s Second Annual Casino Night. A handful of film celebrities, poker professionals and Lakers basketball stars were on hand to compete in the charity poker tournament.
